We are only working in studio recording our pre-production and creating what its becomming the 3 album!!!!
Some concerts will be presented with news songs and anyway its winter time ! We all need that spiritual connection with our people if we want to stay alive ! So come on to sherbrooke and Montreal on Nov & Dec for a huge fiesta!

The band is now back to record the lasts moments of creation...
Some concerts will be presented in Montreal area and around the Québec province this fall, next winter the official recording will start...so be patient dears friends the next album is comming out in 2010!

Our dear friend and musician who died last year in a car accident. His band members and friends have finish his album so its time to celebrate the men and his legacy! All profits from the cd launch will be donate to a charity.

Colectivo 2009.
With great unions comes also painful separation...
Colectivo made a quick stop at the end of the summer 2008 and some of us decided to get of the bus... Some for ever ... and others to accomplish their destiny with there solo project. We wish them luck and happiness and we will never forget the memorable time we had together but now like Darwin use to say: “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, or the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.”
After couples months we are now ready to rock the bus again, some of us have more intrumental responsabilities and many voices are signing the colectivo's rimes! The band will continue to do what they do best : make people dance and party all night! More dates are now available in canada for summer 2009...

Hello folks! This summer is wet and we can proudly pretend not have canceled any concerts untill now! After the lost of our dear friend last june we just did whats we are good for : Playing music to make it better! After the last concert we recovered from the attack of the mug and now ready for the Fiesta at la Tohu LA FALLA.

The FALLA, an immensely popular festival, will be held for a fourth year at La TOHU and will culminate in a spectacular conflagration!
Inspired by the carnival traditions of Europe, the FALLA (pronounced “faya”) promises, once again, to be a lively and entertaining event where different cultures and ages can meet and celebrate together. The grand finale of this gala celebration will see an enormous blaze light the skies of Saint-Michel as a 11-metre-high sculpture is put to the torch amid a fireworks display, all in keeping with the deep-seated traditions of the FALLAS.
THE CONSTRUCTION TEAM
From the end of May until August 23rd , the Falleros will be working on the construction of this wood and paper sculpture. All of Falleros hail from the Saint-Michel district and are in a professional integration program. In this fascinating journey of creativity, they are accompanied by artistic designer Louis Bouchard and a team of professionals: a studio head, a modelle, a painter, etc. The La TOHU’ site has been transformed into a teeming laboratory of artistic expression, where the Falleros will learn woodworking, sculpting and casting, as well as living the unique experience of collective creativity... never forgetting that, come August 23 rd , all their efforts will literally go up in flames. The FALLA experience is one filled with hope and has become a reason for all these young people to meet, learn and develop.

Sad news...
Our dear friend, guitarist and accordeon player to be...Sean Fox Fraser was killed tragically in a car accident on June 13th 2008. Words cannot express how much we are going to miss him and how this will affect us.
Sean was part of Colectivo since our last tour in january 2007, he had the guts to learn 30 songs in 2 weeks, to follow is heart and jump in a tour without knowing anybody. He crossed the mexican land in a school bus with 15 people and he said it was one of his greates experiences in
his live...We are proud to know that we shared those greats moments with him.
The next show at Woodstock en Beauce, June 26th, will be dedicated to his loving memory. Our true sympathies to all his fans, friends and familly.
Hasta siempre amigo! We will never forget you!

Summer 2008
Last February we discovered to our amazement that our domain name had expired and been taken over by ‘spammers’ so we let the name expire and didn’t pay the renewal fee. Unfortunately, some persons seized on the opportunity of our omission to use our name and the popularity of our website to sell aromatic therapies and Viagra! After months of epic media negotiations we managed to recover all without breaking our bank accounts, but we still offer our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience.
Now, back to ‘Colectivo’ and our music, here’s our 2008 summer schedule:

Hi Folks and friends!
Did you had a great summer? We were kind of busy with some concerts this summer in Quebec and Ontario and we had a great time.
Also we travel to NYC severals times and one of them was for the Manu Chao concert in brooklyn! What a blast! Now we are back to roots...in Montreal writing some new songs and working on the next international tour for 2007. Ohh yeah winter time its comming to quebec and Colectivo needs to warm up!
Hope you guys are doing good and hopefully we will be back to your town soon! See ya on the next november 30th at The Spectrum for the last Colectivo concert in Montréal in 2006!

Hello folks!
Here we are...down in Mexico! It's warm and we are very cool with that! After a quick step in Chicago to spend few hours with our friend Kyle, we are finally at Puerto Vallarta. Spending some time at the beach and getting in the mexican mood before our concerts starts.

Here we go!!!
The magic colectivo bus will be crossing the USA borders next february 10th for a pirate performance at TIME SQUARE. Come join the gang and dance under the city lights of NYC.

Gaz!!! For those who had never been to Mexico, here's the situation. Imagine being awake at seven in the morning by the gaz guy you screams at your door instead of ringing! Well Colectivo is kind of that, a gang who increase the power on the fire of your fiesta! We did some concerts in uncommon places this summer like camp-sites, beaches and even in front of your record dealer or better in your favorite bar. The new Especial album plays wherever, good weather, bad weather!
The concerts at the Diable Vert were crowned with success (see pictures) and the crowd each week was larger. A big thank to all the staff and the administration who welcomed Colectivo with high class ;-)
September, the month of the school re-entry. Your schools are invaded by a band of ex-students who will make you sweat. See you at the student coffee for large splif?

Caution!
it is finished! Yes, the new album from Colectivo is now in mixing and we can say to you that this disc is the result of many work and efforts. Not finished yet, still we are very proud of it! It sounds rock'n'roll, world and what a groove!
We recorded 14 songs... it now remains to see which will be immortalized on CD. More than 4 weeks of studio in the garage groove of Ste-Thérèse, 12 hours per day with as producer Cristobal Tapia who wove us a so tight musical net that no imperfect note could slip there, add to that the discipline of work of Fermin Muguruza for vocal arrangements and the texts, and you have an explosive formula! A chance that beautiful Linda cooked us marvellous dishes houses of luxury with desserts with the chocolate!
Thank you Linda and Ghislain, landlords of the studio, for their patience and their generosity.
Crises of insane laughter, vocal torture (from the harmonies and the semitones), of the discussions animated in two languages, because Spanish was of setting. Reversals of texts at the last minute and musical surprises...here the batch of the album euponyme!
But it is with great pleasure that we will present the whole to you towards the end April. This disc is the musical face of the colectivo. This is why we decided on named the COLECTIVO! After 4 years of existance and rounds, this disc is the result of the symbiosis of its musicians. The musical identity is coloured, powerful, energetic and print of the particular character of its members! |
